What’s Happening This March?

Garibaldi Crab Races
Mar 8-9

This unique and entertaining event features live crab races, where participants can cheer on their favorite crustaceans. It’s a fun-filled weekend for families, with plenty of seafood to enjoy alongside the excitement in Garibaldi.

Seaside Jazz & Blues Festival
Mar 14-16

Expect a weekend of performances from a variety of jazz and blues artists, primarily at the Seaside Convention Center. This festival features a lineup of established and emerging artists, creating a perfect blend of musical exploration and coastal relaxation. It is a multi day event, with tickets sold for individual days, and for the entire weekend.

2025 Lucky Leprechaun 5K
Mar 15

This annual event offers a fun and scenic race on the beach near Chinook Winds Casino Resort. Starting at 10 AM, this event includes a 5K fun run/walk on firm sand, providing participants with lucky coupons from the casino and the chance to win prizes sponsored by Chinook Winds Casino and Resort.

St. Patrick’s Day
Mar 17

Oregon Coast lights up with green as various towns celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with parades, traditional Irish music, and festive gatherings at local pubs and eateries. Notably, Nana’s Irish Pub in Newport becomes a focal point for festivities, offering a spirited weekend filled with live music, dance, and authentic Irish dishes like corned beef and cabbage. This pub’s engaging atmosphere and hearty Irish culinary offerings make it a standout destination for those celebrating this festive holiday.

Oregon Coast’s Ghost Conference
Mar 21-24

This annual event in Seaside delves into the eerie and unknown, attracting enthusiasts of the paranormal from across the region. The conference features a series of workshops, lectures, and ghost tours, led by renowned experts in the field. Participants can also join nighttime investigations of reputedly haunted locations, providing both thrilling experiences and a deeper understanding of ghost hunting techniques.

Whale Watching Week
Mar 22-30

Participate in the annual observation of gray whales migrating north along the Oregon Coast. Notable spots for whale watching during this event include Depoe Bay, Cape Foulweather, Cape Lookout State Park, Cape Perpetua Visitor Center, and Neahkahnie Mountain Overlook. These locations are staffed with volunteers who provide insights and assistance in spotting the whales.
