Just South of Newport the Oregon Coast Visitor will find Seal Rock.  When looking out at the Pacific Ocean from Seal Rock you’ll see a ledge of partially submerged rocks in the surf line.  These large rock ledges extend approximately 2.5 miles end to end and sit just .5 miles from the beach.

As you have probably guessed, seals call these rocks home.  However, the rocks are not exclusive to seals.  Today, vacationers enjoy viewing a variety of wildlife on the rocks and in the surrounding tide pools.  Beach combing and agate hunting are also favorites of visitors who travel to Seal Rock.
