Our Seaside Vacation

"This was the second stay we've had at the Seaside Ocean Vista in two years. It's a nice home with a beautiful view. It's also in a great location. Unfortunately, we were not notified ahead of time that a huge home was under construction right next to us. We listened to air compressors and nail guns for hours. However, after I called Oregon Beach Vacations the workers stopped within a few hours. I also appreciated that they did not return for the duration of our stay. The house itself is nice, but it needs some tender loving care. There was an outlet in the master bath that was not finished the first time we visited the house. It still wasn't finished. The metal tables next to the bed in the master bedroom were so incredibly wobbly, that it wasn't safe to place anything on them. None of the beds were very comfortable. Some sort of pillow top would really help. It would be nice to have a TV in all the bedrooms. There is only one main TV in the living room, and a small old TV in the front bedroom designated for kids. The kitchen was well stocked, but the pots and pans are in dire need of replacement. Many need to be thrown away. One of the pots was so badly bent that it kept sliding off the burner. The back burner did not work on the stove at our last visit, and it hadn't yet been fixed yet. We located an electric frying pan, but could not locate the cord to use it. The washer and dryer are extremely old. They didn't appear to wash our clothes very well. There are many positives about the house. Besides the wonderful view and great location, it is well stocked with puzzles and games, and the layout is great for visiting with family. The previously mentioned kid's bedroom has 2 bunk beds, so it's great for a large family. We will probably stay in this house again for the view, but some minor improvements would make our stay much more pleasant. "

"The view was the highlight of our weekend. The place was clean and rooms are very comfortable and bathrooms are beautifully done. The living room and kitchen seemed to be the neglected areas which was where we spend most of our time. The couch was so soiled and filthy that no one used the couch. Every other window, with the gorgeous view, the blinds were broken that we could not get them up all the way and it was filthy and dated. Noticed the same complaints from previous guests and was hoping that all of the complaints were taken care of. We brought our own kitchen supplies/cooking ware due to complaints from previous guests and glad we did.

"We had five adults stay here for four nights. It is a beautiful house, very comfortable, with all of the amenities. We spent hours gazing at the magnificent view and playing cards. "

"Our group of six women had a great time at this home in Seaside. We typically have stayed in Gearheart but had a hard time finding something for our group size this year, and this location was good for our Washington girlfriend that drove to meet the rest of us. Very easy to get to all the "sites" Seaside offers and surrounding areas like Manzanita shops and Canyon Beach Shops. Recommended to mgmt that that 1) blinds facing the ocean need to be replaced for customer liability reasons - the strings were broken and some didn't have any pull handles so blinds stay down for most part - not ideal for an ocean view. 2) The couch needs to be replaced - terrible - can't sit it without touching the bottom frame - even pillows and covers on it didn't help. As we are a group of gals that love to cook we bring a lot of our own kitchen things to cook with, so the items in kitchen that were well used (old), would be manageable if you didn't bring your own stuff. Everything else was great and was advertised accurately. Easy Beach access with a lot of round rocks to walk over along the pathways. Great kitchen table for all of us to gather around, and beds were fine. Colder weekend so we didn't sit out on the deck but would be great if we return later in season which we want to try and do! "

"Friends and I rent this house two or three times a year and hold Retreats there. It's a wonderful place and they only thing we would prefer is a bit more comfortable living room furniture."

Rachel R. from Hillsboro, 04/25/2017

"The home offered all of the amenities we needed for our visit. "

Mary F. from Vancouver, 05/04/2017

"My first time with a vacation rental such as this and I was a little nervous. It was super easy getting in and the location was fantastic. Watching the sunset on the deck was superb. "

David S. from Holladay, 05/30/2017

"Home was clean and welcoming. Staff was extremely slow to respond about possibility of early check in. Range was difficult to use. No tongs in the house. No aluminum foil. Rooms were nice. The range and number of kid toys was unexpected and great. Bathrooms were perfect. Need more deck chairs. Great fire pit. Short stroll to the beach with great sand dollar funds! It was nice watching the surfers from within the house!"

"Location was amazing, great views and right on the beach. House was good and plenty of room for our family of 5. Furniture needs upgrading especially the couch, old dirty and uncomfortable. Beds need upgrading bad. We tried every mattress and they were all terrible!! For the $ there should be adequate beds. No one should wake up on vacation with back and neck aches every morning. Would come back for sure! (At least when they get new beds. )"

Jeff R. from Kaysville, 06/18/2017

"Great house overall, clean, close to the beach, great deck. Make sure to bring your own lawn chairs, as there are only a few in the garage. Couch is a little old and worn in, I would suggest a new sectional for the living room. The path to the beach is a bit rocky and a few of us tripped. Overall the house is great!"

Haley K. from Pasco, 06/28/2017

"Renting the home was easy. It was a lot of fun to play the board games left in the hall closet and the beach toys were a life saver. We loved how it was located close to a grocery store and several nice places to eat. The beach was an easy walking distance and you could see it from the back deck (beautiful sunsets). The home was clean, but the small couch in the living area really should be replaced or a nicer cover put on it. The complimentary kitchen packet was missing (thank goodness I brought my own coffee). You are expected to start a wash load of linens after using the beds (which is fair)but there was no laundry soap. Overall our stay was fun and a great family time was had by all!"

from Chehalis, 07/07/2017

"This was a nice house in a great location. We'd stay here again, but would like to see the sleeper couch in the great room replaced - that particular piece of furniture is very worn."

from Kelso, 07/18/2017

"Two families stayed in the Seaside beach house. We had beautiful views from the deck and just a short walk to the beach and a short drive to downtown. We were able to have a bonfire by the deck. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen could be better stocked (e.g. some more silverware, better pots and pans). We also ran out of hot water and found out the water heater was set to the vacation setting, which we then adjusted. Management should make sure the water heater is set properly before people check in, or let people know they need to adjust it themselves. "

from Omaha, 08/04/2017

"It was a great location and awesome home!!! The only drawback was the internet was too slow and we couldn't use our computers. We did a puzzle, played cards and enjoyed the fire pit and the beach. We made lots of great memories walking the Prom.

Steve C. from Spokane, 08/09/2017

"We had wonderful time staying here. This house is in a perfect location at the south end of town. People don't walk by in front of your home like on the Prom but right on the ocean. It was quiet but close enough to the center of town to walk the Prom. We had the best weather ever and spent a lot of time on the deck.
We were disappointed that the blinds that people complained about previously had still not been fixed but we just had the cleaning lady raise them all except the two that would not go up. It worked ok for us. We definitely would recommend this house."

Jo H. from Oregon City, 08/25/2017

"This was our second year staying there in the fall to celebrate my parents anniversary (60+ years). We love the house with all the wonderful windows facing the ocean. However we were disappointed to see that the conditions were not as we had hoped. The couch is filthy and very broken down; we couldn't raise the blinds on 2 of the windows; and we were very disappointed that the grill didn't seem to work. We have decided to make Seaside in the fall a tradition moving forward and even though we love this house we will have to decide if we book here in years to come or find another location. "

Nancy J. from Beaverton, 10/18/2017

"Three times a year a group of us women rent a home at the coast and work on recovery issues! We have rented many different homes and this one is the best we have found so far and we have rented it five or six times. We would rent it three times a year if that on-season time wasn't so prohibitively expensive but we usually do February and November. The June one is out of our budget. We just wish the furniture were more comfortable, easier to get in and out of."
