Bring the family on this fun and interesting hike that takes you through a forest of tall trees to visit an old WWII radar station with a breathtaking view of Tillamook Rock Light. The first part of the short loop is on a gravel road, but then it descends closer to the cliffs at Indian Point where you’ll get several breathtaking views of the coastline from different angles. You can also continue north on the trail if you’re up for a longer hike (see Tillamook Head Traverse Hike).
You can find the entrance to the trail by walking parallel to Canyon Creek, behind the restrooms. If you walk about 50-75 yards from the vault toilet, you’ll see an opening in the brush which leads down to a small but beautiful waterfall. To begin the loop for the main hike, head straight up on the gravel service road. You’ll see a footbridge on your left. You will cross it at the end, but you can also start from there and take the hike in reverse.
