About Agate Beach State Recreation Site – Newport, OR

Agate Beach State Recreation Site is a state park located in Lincoln County, Oregon between Newport and Agate Beach. The park offers amenities such as beach access, restrooms, fishing, surfing and clam digging. It is administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The site also features picnic tables and various activities on its beach, such as kite flying, agate hunting, birdwatching, and photography. Created in 1969 from land originally bought by the Lincoln County Development Company, the park is now open to visitors year-round. Roughly 190,000 people visit annually.

Camp Near the Beach

Agate Beach State Recreation Site is also great for camping. There are plenty of sites to choose from, most of which have full hookups, group picnic shelters and a dump station.
