The Accounting Clerk will be assisting in accounts payable and receivable processes. This position works as part of an accounting team that is responsible for producing timely and accurate monthly statements. The Accounting Clerk will be assigned duties that are part of the overall accounting process. This is an entry level position and one that will allow an individual the opportunity to learn and develop their accounting skills. The Assistant Controller and their team will ensure that all accounts payable and receivables are up to date, owner statements and payments are accurate and timely, transient taxes are remitted on schedule, bank accounts are reconciled and distributions are made according to senior management’s directive. The accounting department is also responsible for processing payroll and ensuring its accuracy and offering analysis to the operations team as well as auditing and tracking all insurance policies (corporate and employee).
Areas of Responsibility and Duties
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasional travel to other regional offices may be required.
This job is primarily performed at a stationary desk in an office and can be done sitting or standing. Lifting/moving requirements are generally 10 pounds or less. There may be occasional need to crouch, stoop and bend. Normal workdays are between eight and nine hours, but overtime may be needed based on workflow.
