Surfing the rugged Oregon Coast is a year-round sport, but locals say summer is the best time to learn how to surf here, because the PNW winds are blowing, and the waves are typically smaller.
Already a pro? Autumn offers prime conditions with less wind, warmer waters, and consistent surf. Wintertime offers great surf too, if you can endure the cold-water temperatures and heavy rainfall. Check out local daily surf forecast and conditions here.
Cleanline Surf Shop in Cannon Beach has everything you need to hit the waves. They also have local instructors who provide surfing lessons for all ages and skill levels. Don’t surf, but still want to enjoy a day at the beach? They also rent bodyboards, kayaks, paddle boards, skimboards, and more!
Explore the rarely visited tidepools nestled in the boulder-strewn areas at the southern end of Indian Beach. Tide pools are best visited during low tide where you can expect to see anemones, barnacles, hermit crabs, sea stars, and more!
Please note: There is a $ 5 entrance fee.
