Cozy beach vacation

"The Serenity Cottage was a little outdated but it is kept clean and comfortable. "

Rockaway Summer

"We loved the Vacation home. It was cute, charming and had everything we needed. "

Oregon beaches are the best!

"My sister and I took our kids up the west coast and this stop in Rockaway was the highlight of our trip (beating out SF and Seattle) - great location to go up and down Oregon coast - wish we had had more time. "

Tracy C. from Arvada, 07/15/2017

Relaxing, comfortable stay

"The pictures make this home look newer and more posh than it actually is, but it's a nice, comfortable home, quiet and peaceful. There is no dishwasher so keep that in mind, and it's not right on the beach. Some of the floors could use refinishing-- but the price was right and the management very responsive to our needs!"

Cottage on the beach

"It had an older cottage feel. One main living space, with lots of games and tv for movies. The kitchen had what we needed. One master bedroom, one bonus room with a twin and a pullout trundle, and a double bed. Our 8th guest slept on the couch, however, do understand there was a pullout sofa available which we did not use. We were looking for a few extra bed linens and didn't find an exact match, but we found something that would work.

The location was as expected. Easy walking distance to beach and to restaurants.

We weren't too happy about the train tracks, but don't let that discourage you. They aren't a bother. We only saw a slow moving sightseeing tour travel through a few times. "

Vacation getaway

" It was a lovely, quaint cottage that was very nice to stay in. It was nice and roomy. The area is quiet. Everything was set up correctly. And we would recommend it to anybody. Very assessable to the beach and a very nice small town. Other than the train going by on the weekend it was extremely quiet. There were a few things that need fixing there was no light in the fridge. The front porch light was burned out . One of the main ceiling bedroom lights were burned out. Just small little things that go out."

Cozy Cottage on the Beach

"We were really happy with our stay at the serenity cottage. The house was very clean and ready with everything we needed (dishes, towels, toiletries, etc.) We absolutely loved that the beach was less than a minutes walk, as we brought along our two labs who we brought down there to play and swim all day. It was cozy and comfortable and we couldn't have hoped for a better place to call home for a week. We will definitely stay here again!"

Funky, dog friendly, beach place

"Enjoyed our two nights in Rockaway. The house is close to the beach just a short walk down the road but did not expect the house to be so close to 101 and the railroad tracks. House was older with an interesting layout, but we prefer this older style beach house to something modern. Dogs friendly was a huge plus. No Cable and WiFi TV didn't work that great kept buffering so we just watched the DVD's for entertainment. "

Cozy and Serene

"We enjoyed staying at Serenity Cottage. It did have everything we needed although I did bring my own frying pan and cookie sheet. The supplies were minimal (one roll of toilet paper and a small hotel-sized bar of soap for 4 people for 1 week definitely is not enough). Accessible to town - restaurants and shopping. Easy access to the beach. Throw rugs need to be washed. May want to warn guests not to do dishes while someone is in the shower."

Enid H. from Sequim, 01/02/2018

Calm before the storm.

"We rented this place as a last get away before our first child is born. The house was super cute and very well stocked. There were a couple things left behind from whoever set up our romance package (boxes and plastic bags). The beds were pretty uncomfortable as well. Overall, we got what we wanted from our stay and left happy. "

Wonderful weekend away!!!!

"Such a great relaxing weekend. Easy beach access, very cute bungalow and we enjoyed every moment we spent there! "

Rustic... It felt like going home.

"Enjoyed the northern Oregon coast for three days. Serenity Cottage was an excellent home base. This quaint, rustic cottage sits less than one city block away from Rockaway Beach. We couldn't have been happier! The cottage was very clean and well stocked with needed utensils for cooking. Both my husband and I grew up in houses very similar in Oregon and Minnesota respectively. It felt like home. The only thing we would ask is that 3-to-2 electrical plug converters be on hand for use. "

Short Beach Vacation

"We enjoyed being here and found it mostly to our liking. Two specific things that could be improved is the cleanliness-was clean on the surface, but many things like the ceiling fan were not clean. The kitchen was stocked with old and not very functional cooking pans, etc."

Great experience

"We had a great time! The light in the refrigerator was burnt out, so we replaced it, but our accommodations were very comfortable!"

Pre-winter getaway

"We had a wonderful relaxing time. The only thing I wished was different was the shower. With a 7 year old in tow. She's still used to taking baths. But we made do with just the shower."

Penny H. from Meridian, 11/25/2018

Our experience at Rockaway Beach

"The house was as described. Location provided easy access to beach and other points of interest. We would gladly recommend to others."

Serenity Cottage Family Retreat

"Serenity Cottage was just the place my family needed to gather and enjoy each others company. So close to the beach! The town in February is serene as well. Many of the shops are open full time so we could always get an espresso or food. A few minor problems with the house including a malfunctioning fireplace that had a sign on it saying not to use it (which was one of the main reasons this property appealed to me to because it had a working fireplace) and the Roku wouldn't allow us to use the television for anything but the dvd function. Overall ,though, the house was clean and fully stocked and quite comfortable."

Rockaway Beach - Serenity Cottage

"Just what the Doc. ordered. Found 4 Sand Dollars on Mon. the 25th, we all enjoyed our stay.

Thnx - S.P."

Steve P. from Vancouver , 04/01/2019

Perfect location

"We had a great time on our 3 night stay. The house is cute and in a perfect location. It's walking distance to all the shops and about 2 minutes walking to the sand. We would definitely stay again and have already referred it to friends. The only thing it is missing for me to absolutely love it is a grill."

Terra R. from Gladstone, 05/20/2019

Beach getaway

"Lovely spot, the house was clean, comfortable and just a quick walk from the beach."

Paula F. from Sunapee, 05/24/2019

Great location, home needs some updating

"Rental property is in a great location and has needed amenities. It had some food on the floor or daughter found crawling around though and a note indicating it was last cleaned a few months before we arrived. House is great overall and we will likely stay again. Some humidity damage in the house with some peeling wallpaper and some cracking in the kitchen floor where flooring was placed over a hole. Would definitely recommend for a beach vacation."

Family vacation

"We decided to take a last minute trip to the coast for my Birthday and I am so glad that we did.
Pros: per night rate, we were able to bring our pup, WiFi was great, TV streaming options were great, location is great, the house was clean, perfect size, well stocked
Cons: master bed was very firm, 2nd bedroom is across the house in the remodeled garage right next to the backdoor (which is fine for older kids but I was uneasy about it for my toddlers).
Rockaway beach is the perfect little place to enjoy the scenic train ($75 for 4ppl- which we were a little taken aback by the cost), decent food (nothing super special and we were bummed it was difficult to find fresh fish), beautiful walks on the beach with so much to explore. Everything is closed on Tuesdays for some reason. Dispensary is right by the house, which was a plus for me.
All in all- we had a really relaxing family vacation and we will continue to vacation all along the coast. "

Alicia S. from Meridian, 06/09/2019

Amazing cottage

"My family of 6 stayed for 3 nights. Perfect space for us and a perfect location for beach access and activities."

Traci G. from Hudson, 06/17/2019

Great location but lots of mold

"Just a block away from the beach and close to restaurants on Hwy 101. However, the house — particularly the parts closest to entry, including the bathroom and bedrooms — smelled strongly of mold. That was so despite opening windows and running the exhaust fan in the bathroom. "

from Portland, 08/18/2019

Great Family Weekend!

"We had a wonderful time!!! We never got bored, 2 minute walk to the beach. We all would love to go back again..."

from Forest Grove, 08/20/2019

Great cottage for family

"Great cottage in a great location. Short walk to beach and shops. Comfortable layout, kid room in the back is great for noise control. Very well stocked kitchen and lots games, movies, beach toys etc. Note, livingroom furniture a little different than the pictures. The extra table was replaced with 2 chairs, I think the table would be more useful for families. Fireplace makes for cozy mornings and evenings. "
