Hale Kaalawai - pronounced "ha-lay ka-alla-why", Hawaiian for "house on the way to the water" - is a fitting name for this recently remodeled beach home situated on a hillside and next to a path that meanders toward the beach. Set in the quaint village of Oceanside, Oregon, it commands a sweeping view of ocean, surf and sand from Cape Lookout to Three Arch Rocks and Maxwell Point. The beaches in this area are natural and pristine, making this location a part of the quintessential Oregon Coast experience.Two level unit sleeps ten: three Queen bedrooms, plus Queen pullout and sleeping loft. Large ocean view deck, plus second covered deck. Covered ground-level front porch with gas barbecue. Fireplaces in living room and master bed, full gourmet kitchen, full laundry. Cable, DVD, VCR, stereo.
This was THE perfect home for us. Incredible views from every window, wonderful beach & tide pools within walking distance. The house was cozy, beautiful, tasteful, functional and efficient. The downstairs has a warm fireplace. The neighbors make you feel at home and are very friendly. It's a kid friendly house...I could go on and on. We will DEFINATELY stay here again next time we come out. ONLY downside was would have liked another bathroom, but still can't complain with two. That's our ONLY negative thing to say about this house! We had THE best time and the house only added to that! Wish we could have stayed longer!

We met reletives from Minnesota at the Hale Kaalawai beach house and had a wonderful time. This rental house was so clean and affordable. The village of Oceanside is so peaceful...if you are looking for commercialism you will not find it there. Wish we would have booked one more night!!!

We just celebrated our 50th anniversary with our family at this lovely home and we all had a wonderul time. The views are magnificent and the accomodations suited our group of 11 (including 2 toddlers) very nicely. We are the OLD folks so we got the bedroom with fireplace. Very comfy. Will come again!
