Loved the location right on the beach (it does sit adjacent to the motel, but we didn't mind). It is one of those old funky cottages with old mis-matched furniture, really old antique kitchen cabinetry, no dishwasher, and a big old bathtub modified to allow showering. But it was very clean, and our family of four was comfortable (okay, us parents were a little squished in the double bed on the main floor, but we survived). The kids loved the upstairs/attic bedroom area, but I will caution that the stairs going up to the attic as well as the stairs going down to the basement where the washer/dryer is are very steep and narrow. Not for the very young or the slightly older with bad knees! We played cards by the fire, ate take-home food from local restaurants, enjoyed the sound and view of the ocean, and didn't turn the TV on once! Even our little schnauzer had fun and enjoyed the fenced (mostly) back yard. We'll have fond memories, and we'd go back again. 3 stars due to the steep stairs, older furniture, funky shower setup, and no fan in the bathroom. If you like old cottages on the beach next to dining and shopping, this is for you.

We were absolutely amazed at the view! Believe it when you read that this fun and unique property is right on the beach. We spent as much time as possible at the kitchen table watching the changing lighting, kite flying, clouds and unbelievable sunsets. The kids played games in the comfy family room and had a blast playing hide-and-seek all over the house. Yes, the stairs are steep, but it wasn't an issue for us.
We enjoyed walking to the quaint but sophisticated town for meals, shopping, finding wonderful galleries as well as thrift shops we all loved.
We had never stayed at such a charming and unique home; we more often go for the hotels. But this experience will definitey have us coming back for more. Bring a sweatshirt so you can enjoy every minute of the early mornings or evenings.

The ocean views from the living room and kitchen are breathtaking! The view from the deck is even better! This home is perched right on the cliff side above the shore and is absolutely darling. My husband and I brought our mothers on vacation. As hard working folks who work 10-12 hours every day, we had no agenda and conducted our days per our whims�it was great! We spent a lot of time people/pet watching on the beach and just gazing at the ocean over coffee, meals, etc. all from the comfort of our beach house! It was a much needed revival.

First, the home is very clean. Very clean. And the d�cor throughout the home is adorable. I have never stayed at a beach rental that is so well appointed. You will not be lacking towels, or blankets. There are tons of them on the shelves, in the closets�and if you do happen to go through them all, you�ll have a nice washer/dryer set with which to clean them. They also provide a pouch of laundry detergent (2-4 loads worth). They start you off with travel size shampoos and soaps and a few rolls of toilet paper. Check out all of the drawers in the bathroom for extra throw rugs, bath mats, etc. I highly recommend you bring, or pick up at a local store, additional toilet paper and a small box of PHOSPHOROUS FREE laundry detergent. We used TIDE, which was the same as was provided initially.

The full kitchen is absolutely loaded with glassware, dishes, cutlery and provides a coffee maker, microwave and other kitchen wares. They provide a roll or two of paper towels, plenty of kitchen towels and trash bags. There is even a telephone in the kitchen.

The living room furniture is comfortable and abundant and is arranged so you may have great conversations or enjoy a cozy fire in the fireplace.

The yard is darling, with wildflowers throughout and ocean themed d�cor. It IS completely fenced, as the entrance to the yard has a gate, which, when latched shut, makes the yard entirely enclosed.

We thoroughly enjoyed this house! I want to thank the homeowners and the OBV for such a neat vacation place!

*Some things to consider if you have elderly or handicapped vacationers coming with you:

There is an approximate 30 foot, slightly sloping walk from the driveway to the front step. (You can see it in the virtual tour on the web page)

The first step is kind of steep. There are hand railings on both sides for the first set of 3 steps onto the front deck and one for the two steps leading into the home. You will navigate 5 steps total.

The steps up to the upper bedrooms and down to the laundry room are pretty steep, but my husband and I, both in our forties and my 69 year old mother in law had no problems with them at all.

The bed in the lower bedroom, while comfortable, is tall. My 73 year old mother could not get into the bed under her own power. We had to hoist her in every night! While this provided much laughter for all participating, this might not be an option for some.
